Connect Lens to ChatGPT and Claude

Ask about your brand's AI visibility from the assistant you already use. Setup takes about two minutes.

Connection settings

For Authentication, choose OAuth. The assistant registers itself with Lens automatically, so there is nothing to paste into the client ID or secret fields.

"No authentication" and "API key" will not work: Lens refuses any request that does not carry your Lens sign-in.

Before you start

  • A Lens account that belongs to a workspace. Any role works.
  • At least one brand with a completed analysis. Until then every answer is "no data yet".
  • ChatGPT or Claude with custom connectors enabled. On business plans your admin may need to allow them first.

You do not need an API key or credentials from Narron.

Set up in ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode if custom connectors are not available yet.
  2. Choose Create, give it a name such as "Narron Lens" and paste the MCP server URL.
  3. Set Authentication to OAuth and leave the client ID and secret empty.
  4. Confirm you trust the connector and choose Create.
  5. Sign in with your Lens account in the window that opens and choose Allow.
  6. In a new chat, turn the connector on from the tools menu and ask a question.

Set up in Claude

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Enter a name and paste the MCP server URL.
  3. Leave OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret under Advanced settings empty, then choose Add.
  4. Choose Connect, sign in to Lens and choose Allow.
  5. In a chat, turn the connector on from the tools menu.

Assistant menus change from time to time. If a label differs, look for "Connectors" or "Apps" in the assistant's settings.

What you can ask

The assistant picks the right tool on its own. You never have to name one.

  • Visibility: your score, AI mentions, average rank and a per-platform breakdown.
  • Topics and prompts: where you are strong or weak, the questions Lens asks, and your rank on each.
  • Competitors: who is named alongside or instead of you, by share of voice.
  • Brand perception: awareness, authority, recommendation, preference and trust.
  • Suggestions: your stored recommendations, by priority.
  • Changes: what moved between two analyses, and why a single prompt's rank changed.

Security and privacy

  • Read-only. The connector cannot create, change or delete anything in Lens.
  • Your workspace only. It sees what your Lens account sees, with the same permissions. With several workspaces it uses your default one.
  • No password sharing. You sign in on Lens, never inside the assistant. Access renews on its own; after 30 days unused (90 at most) you sign in again.
  • Plan limits apply. Anything your plan hides in Lens stays hidden in the assistant.
  • Disconnecting. Remove the connector in the assistant's settings. Leaving the workspace also ends its access.

Troubleshooting

The connector shows no tools or says unauthorized.
It was created with "No authentication" or "API key", or the sign-in was not finished. Recreate it with OAuth and complete the Lens sign-in.
"No active Lens workspace for this account".
Sign in with the account you use for Lens, or ask your workspace owner to invite you.
Every answer says "no data yet".
No analysis has finished for the brand yet. Run one in Lens and ask again when it completes.
The sign-in window says the request expired.
More than 10 minutes passed before you approved. Choose Connect again.
There is no option to add a custom connector.
Your assistant plan or workspace admin has not enabled custom connectors yet.
